I think that I shall never see...

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the sweet earth's flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree."

- Joyce Kilmer, 1886-1918, Trees

Stunning art. Oil or acrylic? I remember that poem from secondary school.

I believe it was one of the first poems I ever memorized - in junior high school. Now, the teachers dare not read or have students recite such a poem for it mentions God - the Creator of all things. It is a beautiful poem. And as to the medium, it is a photograph that I manipulated slightly in Photoshop by applying one filter and burning and dodging some of the elements. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for your kind words.
