Random

Some have little tolerance for it,
but I find being random
to be disarming and amusing.

The Scent of Water

Though its root may grow old in the earth, and its stump may die in the ground, yet at the scent of water it will bud and bring forth leaves like a plant. ~ Job 14

The Broken Bones Will Dance

Soak me in your laundry and I'll come out clean
Scrub me and I'll have a snow-white life.
Tune me in to foot-tapping songs,
Set these once-broken bones to dancing.
Don't look too close for blemishes,
Give me a clean bill of health.
God, make a fresh start in me,
Shape a Genesis week from the chaos of my life.
Don't throw me out with the trash,
Or fail to breathe holiness in me.
Bring me back from gray exile,
Put a fresh wind in my sails!
Give me a job teaching rebels your ways
So the lost can find their way home.
Commute my death sentence,
God, my salvation God,
And I'll sing anthems to your life-giving ways.
Unbutton my lips, dear God;
I'll let loose with your praise.

Soul Singing

HOW GREAT THOU ART
Verse 1:O Lord my God! When I in awesome wonderConsider all the worlds Thy hands have made.I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,Thy power throughout the universe displayed.
Refrain:Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee; How great Thou art, how great Thou art! Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee:How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Verse 2:When through the woods and forest glades I wanderAnd hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees; When I look down from lofty mountain grandeurAnd hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze: (Repeat Refrain.)
Verse 3:And when I think that God, His Son not sparing,Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing,He bled and died to take away my sin:(Repeat Refrain.)
Verse 4:When Christ shall come with shout of acclamationAnd take me home, what joy shall fill my heart! Then I shall bow in humble adoration,And there proclaim, my God, how great Thou art!(Repeat Refrain.)
